  6. This is my second guitar after my Spanish Guitar. Since my country doesn’t offer many guitar brands, a very close friend had gifted me with this guitar. I had just started to play when I got this instrument. I have been playing for two and a half years on this guitar and I must say that Yamaha guitars have got to have really superior sound. It is rich and vibrant in sound. It sounds beautiful when it’s tuned low and in close corridors or rooms. For the rrice, this guitar is a steal. Certain buzzes to occur time to time, but I guess you need to play better to avoid it. The tension when I got it was relatively high, but over times of playing, the tension reduced greatly and the sound was even better. I am really attached to this guitar as it is my first acoustic. I am in my third year of playing and I love every minute of it.

  9. The tone is good. It is clean and sounds lovely. I have played a lot of guitars which are double the price of the Yamaha but failed to compete with Yamaha’s tone.

  12. The guitar I’m afraid is not solid. Since it is made of plywood, it tends to chip easily. I use a lot of different tunings so the G,B,E strings have snapped many a times. The tuners are very bad. My G string had snapped once and the tuners screw had come out of its wood coating. Now whenever I have to tune that particular string, I would have to tune half way up, push the screw in and tune again in order for the tuner to stay in place. I just wish the Tuners were stronger and more reliable. It looks like my D Strings tuner is also following the same footsteps.

  6. This guitar is easy to play, the action was good the way it was from the factory. I would say it certainly fills the bill if you are looking for an inexpensive, yet decent guitar.

  9. It has a good clean sound. Compared to similarly priced instruments, it was hands down the best sound.

  12. Seems solid. Has a pretty good feel. I can’t find any flaws in it. I feel like I got what I paid for. I have an FG-412, that I like better, but the F-310 is a good guitar.

  6. It sounded really ugly and has a very high action when I first bought it. But then I got it setup and changed the strings to new D’Addarios and it sounds fine. The strings buzz when you strum it too hard. It’s not too easy nor hard to play. You have to press the frets firmly to get a clean sound out of it, but it’s worth the price that I paid for it.

  7. Performance Rating: 8

  9. The sound is pretty solid. It buzzes when you strum it too hard though. Otherwise it has a pretty good sound.

  11. Construction

  12. It has a nice finish, but it’s made of plywood. The wood on the guitar looks and feels solid. It looks like the neck was joined to the body with glue because I see a little crack between the body and the neck, so that feels a little cheap. I’ve made a few dents and scratches to the guitar by accident, and it still plays fine. So I guess you can say it’s pretty reliable.
