  6. I changed out the tuning set up and added a new nut and saddle. I adjusted the saddle so the action plays about 1/8 of an inch from the board. At first the saddle was just a square piece of injected molding you find at your local guitar store. I planed it down and rounded off the playing edges by sanding them and the end result is a smooth transitional playing guitar. I am excited for the future I have with this guitar!

  9. Beautiful sound with sweet highs and distinct lows. This beauty is able to resinate a very wide variety of musical styles. I am very surprised and enthralled to have this guitar in my quiver!

  12. One of the most serendipitous finds of my lifetime. I found this guitar on the side of the road in some nondescript trash pile. At first I thought it was just a guitar and was hoping that this thing was just playable. Little to my surprise this guitar was a Wasburn! It was missing almost all of the hardware and had a lot of cob webs in the body. Nothing $40 bucks and a little elbow grease couldn't fix. It still needs a truss rod adjustment, but none the less it still plays amazingly!

  6. Bought this in Churabusco, NY at Dick’s Country Store. Some “buddy” (my buddy for life if I find ‘em) obviously took great pains to set this up. The action is about 1/8“ all the way down the neck. Even my stubby little fingers fly over the frets. AND, there are no little piggies SQUEALING in the neck as I move! I put a Markley Pro Mag in this and the strings dang near hit it due to the low action, BUT they miss, and being nearer the pickup, I get a very true sound. Uh-May-Zing! I’m no Keith Richards, but with this box I’m playing much better guitar today than Beethoven ever did.

  9. Luvlee bright sound. I put Martin M-130 Folk silk-on-steels on this and it is MAGICAL. A GOR-JEE-US mellow tone with bright highs that carry a moderately noisy room even unamplified with no pick. Recommend tuning down 1/2 step to bring out the bass (even with Bronze strings).

  12. There exists a slight bit of cracking along the side of the body. Perhaps this got stored in a dry space a bit too long somewhere in its life. Hasn’t affected the sound.

  6. Bought it in a pawn shop. Replaced the nut and saddle, did some neck work. This is one of the top six acoustics I’ve ever played. The others were: a ’92 Martin D18 re-issue, a ’61 D18, a custom D28, a Taylor 714 CE-L1, and a ’66 Epiphone. It is bright, loud, and durable. I had a Thinline put in and have gigged with it for seven years. What an incredible instrument at any price!

  12. My mother bought this for me as my first “good” guitar when I graduated High School. That was ten years ago. Since then I have owned many guitars — Martins, Gibsons, Rickenbackers, Gretsches, Epiphones to name a few and my favorite workhorse is still the Washburn. I’ve written probably 500+ songs on that thing! It has seen lots of daily action. Left out around the house, dropped on a cement floor, played in the rain, beat up. The thing is still good as new & sounds great. The gig bag that came with it has held up as well. Highly recommended.

  6. Bought as a good beginner guitar for my son. Works well for a $200 guitar (list is pretty high — don’t pay it — Mars music has it for $180 +/-) Good quality beginner/intermediate guitar, easy action, a good, balanced sound (not too tinny) decent volume (not real loud), nice finish. LOTS OF EXTRAS AVAILABLE FOR LIMITED COST — get the case, tuner, tube stand, etc... For a beginner/intermediate guitar, I give it a 8.

  9. Clean, balanced, with good strings, enough body for decent bass/mid. Volume is ok. Again for a beginner/intermed.

  12. Seems well put together, OK tuners, Mahogany all around, Rosewood fingerboard, no electronics.
