I have done my homework, and picked the perfect guitar for me. I also got at a great price at Guitar Center. They match prices, so shop around before going to pickup your future guitar! I have a few electric guitars, and a Gibson J45 acoustic. And I would not say that the Taylor plays as easy as does the electric guitars simply because the strings on electric are much easier to bend, and work with. Even though the setup and intonation is perfect on the Taylor (No complaints there) — Barre chords for a beginner will be a tad bit harder than on an electric. But I honestly feel that the playability on Taylor guitars is far superior to any other acoustic out there. They have their own field.

I get amazing volume without the pickup, I hardly need a pickup when in a group setting. But when plugged into an Fender Acoustasonic Amp, it’s a great sound. My guitar was made 1/30/03 and has the Expression System pickup. I have a really hard time getting feedback with this system when plugged in. It seems more “Lively” than the Fishman pickup in earlier models. As I have played several before sinking my teeth into this one. Play a few and choose for yourself. Some people dislike the new E.S. pickups, but give it a fair try as I did and spend a few hours on it. It will sound different to your ears at first, as it even picks up my hand on the back side of the neck (very touchy if you crank it.)

Frets are perfect. Guitar feels expensive to the touch (very nicely made construction). Neck is perfectly straight. One thing that was not done at the factory was something very small, but Taylor did come through and send me this sticker that covers the area where the bolts hold the neck on inside the body of guitar (a little hard to see, but I looked very hard at the guitar). Anyway, after calling them, they were very business like, almost like I was part of the Taylor family now, and sent me what I had asked for. Even threw in a clear pick-guard. I feel that even though this may of been missed in inspection, that the way they fixed it was acceptable, and I am still very happy about it. The hard shell Taylor case is either wood inside or some other hard material as it feels it would protect your guitar very well.

I had been out “testing” guitars for about three months, playing the same two songs on each model — one a strummer and one a picker. My goal was to find a guitar which would adequately project subtleties in my playing. In other words, I didn’t want a guitar that only sounds full and resonant when you strum it hard. Acoustically, the 710ce gave me exactly what I wanted. It is extremely easy to play, and the electronic controls are user-friendly when you must plug in.

The rosewood back/sides and cedar top give me that beautiful traditional “classical” timbre of full, resonant basses, but without sacrificing crisp highs that don’t overpower. I would call this a “finesse player’s” instrument.

This is an all-solid guitar, as are all Taylor instruments. No lamination (plywood). The top seems a little susceptible to dings, so I have to be careful about its environment. Otherwise, I’m very happy with the structural integrity of this guitar.

This is the most amazing acoustic I have ever owned. The tone of the Indian Rosewood is perfect on the low end and on the high end. Whether it’s plugged in or not, this guitar sounds beautiful. It is also perfect if you like to pick songs. It is crystal clear and I can’t ask for a better guitar. It looks good too.

The Fishman on-board pickup is unbelievably crisp. It also has a blender that will blend your voice with the guitar.

This guitar is built rock-solid. But with it’s great looks and amazing sounds, I doubt that you would do anything that would test its craftsmanship.
