  5. Performance

  6. Exceptionally easy to play. As an electric player first, it has capabilities of being set up almost as quick as my Strat. Strings are hard to change as there are no bridge pins (Nothing to lose when changing strings but...), only three crescent shaped slots across the bridge. I had to trim down a piece of rubber hose to use as a pin while I tied the strings around the peg. Works well enough that Tacoma should offer it as an accessory to the guitar, if not standard equipment. Hey, it’s another place they can stick their logo...

  8. Sound Quality

  9. The sound is VERY different at times. It is seriously LOUD for a concert-sized guitar. I can drown out my friend’s Yamaha dreadnought, and being this loud, you do have a tendency to broadcast the more percussive aspects of your playing style. This fits in well with my style, but some may find it unnerving. Very responsive and quick to fill out any note on the neck with a warm, throaty vigor, even the lowest notes (I sometimes tune it to an odd tuning based on a low “C” without any loss in sound quality) are robust and distinct.

  11. Construction

  12. It feels delicate when you first pick it up, but after a while it lets you know that it can take a beating along with the Ol’ Faithful your granddaddy had. The top is braced differently than any other guitar I’ve played, which may explain the volume, and due to this, it has some quirky resonance characteristics. One is the fact that the player’s hand being placed on the bridge will severely effect the tone. Not good or bad, just different. The act of lightly placing and removing your hand from the bridge after strumming a full chord will result in a swirling, phasey effect. This, along with the aforementioned dynamics of this guitar can lead to a very unique voice at times. It NEEDS A CASE. Buy the Case. I can’t stress this enough except to say: do ya remember that cheezy little pawnshop special that you bought years ago without a case? Remember the cheapo gig bag you bought to tote it around in? SAME THING HERE. Get the case..
