Performance
The Ibanez is constructed of a solid Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides. The pearl dot inlay is perfect and the tuners are diecast chrome. Very beautiful guitar. It has a good balance feel to it. It is nothing fancy and neither is it a cheap instrument. The construction is well done and feels very sturdy. The Ibanez works well for beginners and is a great guitar for just jammin’ anywhere. The one problem I had with my model was that the action was too low and the Low E string would buzz on the first couple of frets no matter how soft you played it. The neck is a slim design which makes it a breeze to play. Chords and finger licks come very easily on this VS100BK. Overall its a well beginner/intermediate guitar.

Sound Quality
This Ibanez produces a warm but not deep tone. I put medium strings on it to help produce a deeper tone and it did help a small amount. The guitar is your standard loud mouth dreadnought. It doesn’t have a real deep tone to it nor does it have a high twang sound either. It’s a well sounding guitar, nothing special or fancy, but not a bare bones sound at all! If you want to get a basic guitar with the quality of a high price model, choose this Ibanez.

Very very solid! No major problems so far and I have had it almost a year. Tuners are great, frets look good, finish is perfect (except for the fingerprints). The VS100BK is definite Ibanez quality in a low end model.
