This is "the holy grail" of acoustics guitars. Don't get hung up on logos from the Big Three. You are going to pay way too much for a lesser guitar. They all make great guitars and the resale value is always there with the "big three", that is not debatable. But if you want the best value out there play a D-55 then go play a Taylor 910 or a D-41/45 Martin or a Custom Shop Southern Jumbo from Gibson, like I did, and I bought the GUILD. It was the finest of all of them, no question about it, and the price is unreal for the quality and sound you are getting! There is nothing out there that will touch this guitar!

Better than anything I have ever played in 35 years of guitar searching for the perfect acoustic! This thing has the bottom end of my buddies D-45 Brazilian made in 1966 and the top end of my Taylor 810 with crisper mids without the overtones of the other two. This is the nicest overall sound I have ever heard.

The superb luthier that did the custom set up, told me this was the finest guitar he had ever played for over 20 years, rock solid with flawless finishes. Beautiful antique sunburst paint job as good as on a Gibson Southern Jumbo or J-45 from the custom shop. Super sharp!

It mystifies me why this guitar does not get the same respect as say Martin, Gibson, Larrivee, etc. It plays like a dream, once you have played an Ebony fretboard, Rosewood does not seem the same. The sound and tone of this guitar is phenomenal, deep bass, clear ringing mid and treble, unbelievable sustain. I have played lots of Martins, Gibsons, Larrivees, Taylors (a local store allows you to play all the display models) and in my humble opinion, this instrument plays and sounds better then Martins costing $3000.00. All I can say is, before you plunk down your money for that Martin, play a D-55.

Awesome. Clean, ringing, clear tone. Sounds like a church bell. The moment I picked up this guitar and heard it, I knew I was going to buy it.

The Guild seem quite well built to me. Scalloped bracing, exquisite workmanship, stunning finish, beautiful binding, abalone inlay, ebony fretboard. Gold hardware, excellent Grover tuning heads. This is a first class guitar all the way.
