Performance
A dream of a Lowden looked over when the workshops closed and Avalon was born: not a bad successor but not the same. Then a miracle... George Lowden was resurrected and new guitars arose. Each one is made and set up to George's exacting standards and this one is gentle yet so strong. Strings ring clear, table seems to breathe, and as for playability — well it's almost effortless and yet begs you to try harder. Fantastic!

Sound Quality
The sound is “whole” — clean and clear: you hear every string when they're picked and yet with chords you simply hear the whole sound. Projection is amazing for this medium- to small-bodied guitar. Quiet finger-picking is distinct, and yet for the 'big number' you barely need an amplifier — astonishing!

Like a fine wine this Lowden guitar is a refined piece of craftsmanship and design with a restrained finish. Like a fine wine, it will improve with age. But while wine, once drunk, is gone, this guitar will sing for year after year after year... and no hangovers!
