  5. Performance

  6. This is a great little guitar for the beginning shredder. I’d never owned a guitar equipped with a Floyd Rose, but didn’t want to pay an arm and a leg for a guitar that I wouldn’t play every day. I was pleasantly surprised (expecting to sacrifice a lot of quality). This guitar plays GREAT! With its stylish contours, comfort is almost unmatched. Very well balanced and lightweight. Other than a slight adjustment to the Floyd bridge height, everything is great as is, from the factory.

  7. Performance Rating: 10

  8. Sound Quality

  9. This is where I do have to give a slightly bad mark. Because this is the low-end of the Revolver models, the pickups are just a standard-issue set of humbuckers. Not quite as hot as one would like for a shredder style guitar. Kind of flat with too many mids. However, a few slight adjustments to the EQ on the processor, and voila! For having a Floyd Rose trem, it does have substantial sustain. For those who don’t know, Floyds are notorious for killing sustain. So, that nice little surprise makes up for the lack of quality in the pickups.

  10. Sound Quality Rating: 8

  11. Construction

  12. Overall, this is a really solid guitar. It’s great for beginners or people like me, who just want something they can use during a trip back to ‘80s hair-metal. I would say that you probably get a bit more than your money’s worth. I think a simple pickup upgrade would certainly put this guitar in the front line of my arsenal.

  13. Construction Rating: 10
