This is the first guitar I have ever played which is not a Strat shape, and let me tell you, it’s a lot more comfortable than I thought it would be. It’s actually easier to play in a more comfortable position than a Strat shape but only when your standing up. Sitting down with it can be awkward sometimes because of its shape. From the look of the guitar, it seems to promise a lot, but it gives a lot more, you can’t help play it the first few times without a large grin appearing across your face!

This guitar, despite what you might think, does not sound like Metallica, it’s got a much crunchier sound to it. The pickups are good, not all that hot though. I would prefer if they were real EMG 81’s. There is very little noise other than what you play, and it is good for both rhythm and solo work. I’ve only played it through a Marshall amp, sounds great, very clear and precise, with a fair amount of sustain too. Overall the sound is just right for metal, but not much else.

Let me tell you, this department is covered, it’s perfect, flawless. It really is, everything about the guitar’s build is brilliant apart from one small detail, the neck is very heavy and the body light, the neck often slides away from you, which is distracting. This is a minor problem which can be fixed by putting lead weights in the body cavity. But this is by far the best quality guitar I have ever had. No problems yet, it’s still quite new, but it seems like it will last forever.

This guitar is awesome, it does exactly what you would expect it to — ROCK HARD! It has a really heavy sound and always stays in tune, no matter how much you knock it around. It’s easy to play as it is not as heavy as you might expect, the shape is very easy to get used to, and the neck is perfect for sliding up and down quickly. This guitar was made to play metal!

The guitar has a very crunchy sound, the EMG pickups are fantastic, and even when used with a basic small amp, there is still very little noise other than the notes you play. The sustain is fairly good, although lower notes tend to fade out quicker than I would like. Other than that, this guitar sounds just about perfect!

Wow, I dropped this down the stairs during a party last week and it stayed together! I use it a lot and it gets knocked around a bit. The body really feels well made and the guitar as a whole is solid. The frets are smooth and easy to slide and bend strings, and it always stays in tune when I play it hard. The ESP EX351; built hard, to rock hard!
