  6. Frets and neck are terrific, archtop is fantastic, but electronics I had to replace — simply too much crackle and hum, stock.

  9. Absolutely the best for Clapton/Cream style blues/rock, or G’N’R/Slash licks. Probably better than my Gibson Les Paul Standard (from 1978) at sustain and a clean, blues sound.

  12. One fault to this guitar is the cord coming out of the jack at inopportune moments, until I rapped the cord around the strap. The construction of this guitar is much superior to the current Studio Les Pauls — although it is very heavy. Epiphone really has improved the construction of their guitars since 1990.
