Performance
Yairi’s virtuoso guitars, while acoustic, are designed to be played wired. The concert size body, slim neck and ebony fretboard are all designed for an electric guitar feel with an acoustic sound. If you want a big, booming sound, get a dreadnaught. However, it does exactly what it says it will do. I am an electric guitar player, but once in a while you need an acoustic, either for the sound or the inability to hook up. If you prefer and electric but must play an acoustic, this is the baby! I play mine with light strings, for an even closer feel. When you are hooked up you can still get plenty of sound, and plenty of richness. In fact, I play country rhythm on an acoustic amp. The guitar comes in a variety of woods and colors. Its only drawback is a fairly strong tendency to feedback.

In a word, Great! I play lead on it with an electric amp and rhythm with an acoustic amp. Either way, I love the sound. You won’t get the big, booming acoustic sound that you get with a dreadnaught, but that’s not what this guitar is designed for, and it sounds fine hooked up. Mine has rosewood back and sides and a spruce top. It gets a very mellow clean sound and even has a fairly good overdrive. You won’t be disappointed by the sound at all.

I’ve had mine for over a year, moved it once, hauled it halfway across the country and play it regularly. It has a beautiful, clean, artistic look and with common care appears to be completely reliable.
