Ibanez Introduces The MIMX 30 Amp
The new Ibanez MIMX30 puts 11 amp models with various combinations of effects in a 30 watt version, the most popular package in the highly competitive modeling amp market. This isn't just price driven — smaller amps like the MIMX30 are the best choice for home recording where something like the 150 watt Ibanez MIMX monster would be serious overkill and might strain relations with the neighbors. The MIMX 30 can operate like a standard amp with rotary pots in the "manual" mode and can also be controlled with an optional IFS2M footswitch (list price $39.99).
As with all MIMX amps, the MIMX30 features 10 amp models: Rock, Hard Rock, Guitar God, 90s Brit, LA Heavy, US Blues, 70s Brit, Jazz Combo, 60s Clean — all of which mimics classic amps — plus an 11th, the "Psycho" model, an original Ibanez Metal setting featuring Ibanez distortion. While MIMX amps are designed to handle virtually any gig in any genre, they were clearly created with the metal player in mind.
Fender Introduces The ‘65 Princeton Reverb Amplifier
The legendary Fender Princeton Reverb Amp of the 1960s was small, light, and moderately powered. Though intended for practice situations, the Princeton was capable of big tube tone, and Fender’s worldclass Reverb and Vibrato effects were the icing on the cake. From its inception until today, countless guitarists have chosen it as their go-to studio amp, crafting signature sounds with a stomp box or two feeding a simple miked-up Princeton. Today, original Princeton Reverb amps are prized collectibles, and becoming harder to find. The new ’65 Princeton Reverb amp offers today’s players all of the great tone and dynamics of the original in an affordable, roadworthy reissue. The robust 15-Watt platform is a wise choice for creating tube tone in a small space, and even provides enough output for small gigs and rehearsals.

Kustom Announces Double Cross Tube Amp
The Double Cross is an all-tube, 3-channel guitar head. Designed by noted amp builder James Brown, the 100-watt Double Cross redefines high-gain guitar amplification with a broad spectrum of new tones and user-modified features. The Double Cross platform consists of three distinctively voiced channels: Rhythm, Lead I and Lead II. Each Lead channel can be modified by users via four separate function switches which are located at the four endpoints of a "Cross" design on the control panel. These switches are not simply EQ parameters; instead, each uniquely blends additional 12AX7 tube stages, letting players actually alter the Gain/EQ/Attack structure of their preamps — modifications usually not offered to consumers unless they take their amplifier to a knowledgeable technician to be permanently "modded."
Special features include an all tube, footswitchable effects loop, a 6L6 / EL34 bias switch for changing output tube types, speaker-emulated direct out, an input jack labeled 'Tight' that gives the amp a super-defined attack response, and a 5-function footswitch (3 channels, Boost, Effects). The Double Cross retails for $1999.99 and will start shipping in April of 2008.
